During your internship in Switzerland, an IMI staff member will visit you to ensure that you are happy with the progress of your training and to guide you with the internship assessment procedures.
For overseas internships, IMI will maintain regular contact with you and your employer to ensure that your experience lives up to your expectations. Quite often, site visits are also conducted by staff members traveling to the region.

These industry leaders visit IMI to lecture, recruit and guide our students through all aspects of employment in the field of hospitality and beyond. Cuisine and healthy food are of fundamental importance to IMI and all our students. With approximately 50 nationalities on campus, we specialize in ensuring all the food requirements are met by offering the best local fresh food every day. Included in the fees we offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Monday to Friday and brunch and dinner on Saturday, Sundays, and public holidays.
Buffet dining is available daily with a fine dining training restaurant at lunch on weekdays. All special diets are catered for. Please indicate any special dietary requirements in your application.
The IMI campus is situated on the shores of Lake Luzern with spectacular views over the Alps and the Mountains of Rigi and Pilatus. Our students are housed in comfortable rooms close to the lecture theatres, restaurants, and leisure facilities.
Hyatt International, Sandals Resorts, Mövenpick, Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club, FRHI Hotels (Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel), MCI Events, The Landmark London and The Ritz Carlton are just some of the companies who have recruited at IMI recently.
Our team organises one-on-one meetings with all students in their first weeks at IMI to ensure that each student makes the right placement choices to complement their personal strengths and aspirations.
You enjoy incredible views from your accommodation at IMI. The food is amazing with options for veg and non-veg. Switzerland has the lowest rate of crime and there is no racial discrimination. Overall it is just the country to study hospitality.
